Saravanan K is a self learned GIS researcher engaged in working with coastal communities for over a decade. His expertise in the spatial understanding of coastal communities and their transformations has helped in developing a distinct methodology of people centered mapping. He is working with fishers in understanding their measuring practices, in relation to the sea using the plumbline and also the story of fishing through the lens of the mesh size as a regulatory instrument for fisheries.
