Monna Matharu is an archivist and researcher. Her work centres around rethinking how collections are described, interpreted, and shared. She pays particular attention to migration, empire, and community memory. She has led cataloguing audits, research and engagement projects for institutions including Arts Council Collection, Southbank Centre, and the South Asian Diaspora Arts Archive, Brent Museum and Archives, and University of East London, producing exhibitions, research guides, and public programmes. Through adapting cataloguing standards, access policies, and contextual research, she is invested in how collections shape what is remembered, whose stories are preserved, and how the past continues to inform the contemporary.
